Project Manager

About the Role: This position is part of a large transformation program aimed at modernizing sales and marketing architecture, applications, and sales channels. You will be responsible for steering and managing the program's operational readiness, setting up operational dashboards, leading the operational readiness team, and monitoring project risks and issues.

Working closely with IT delivery teams and internal business stakeholders, your primary responsibility will be ensuring the successful delivery of various program releases. You will report to the head of the Customer Experience Solutions (CES) team and work within a multidisciplinary team to achieve the program's goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and manage operational dashboarding and management tools to ensure program readiness across multiple teams
  • Define and track KPIs that measure the business value of project deliverables
  • Monitor project progress, ensuring alignment with business objectives
  • Create detailed reports and dashboards for senior management and steering committees
  • Collaborate with the Program Manager and Project Support Office to maintain control over budgets, policies, and project milestones
  • Review program and project documentation from inception to implementation
  • Analyze financial data and assess project/program budget risks
  • Lead governance meetings covering product capabilities, migration status, and roadmap updates
  • Communicate project expectations to team leads and stakeholders clearly and timely
  • Liaise with internal and external clients and IT teams
  • Identify and manage risks throughout the program and develop plans to mitigate them

Skills and Experience:

  • Strong background in IT and understanding of its complexities
  • Experience in public sector, e-commerce solutions, or public transport considered an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to solve ambiguous problems with a “can-do” attitude
  • Strong knowledge of Agile project management and ability to lead meetings and facilitate discussions
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and documentation skills suitable for various audiences

Other Requirements:

  • Legal authorization to work in Belgium
  • Ability to work in a hybrid setup, both remotely and in Brussels (minimum 2 days/week)

About the role:

PPSE is a major program within NMBA/SNCB to transform the sales & marketing architecture, applications and sales channels to make these future prove and answer to the changing needs of the customer and market environment.
As part of the Program Management team of PPSE, this purpose of this role is to own, steer and drive the operational program readiness of the PPSE program. This included the set-up and management within the PPSE program scope of operational dashboards, management of the Operational readiness E2E team, follow-up of RIDAC status. As such this role reports functionally to the PPSE Program manager.
The primary role is to work closely with IT delivery teams and business internal customers to drive the successful delivery of the different releases within the PPSE Program.
You will be part of CES organisation and report to the head of the CES (Customer Experience Solutions) team within Ypto.

Key responsibilities

  • Define and set-up operational dashboarding, management tools on program level to assure operational readiness and program management across all the releases and development teams within Ypto.
  • Define/follow up on KPI that measure business value creation of the project deliverables
  • Progress Tracking: Monitor project progress by combining detailed delivery & status information and ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Create reports & dashboards for senior management & SteerCo’s
  • Work closely with Program Manager and Project Support Office to keep control over budgets, project policies, and project gating
  • Review program/project documentation from creation to implementation

 

  • Analyze financial data and assess budgetary risk for each project and the entire program
  • Manage E2E governance meeting: Product capabilities, product migration status & Roadmap updates & alignment with BALS
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team lead and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion;
  • Liaise with client (SNCB/MNBS) and IT Teams on an ongoing basis;
  • Diagnoses and evaluates potential risks and issues throughout the program and executes appropriate plans to mitigate them. Reports regularly to the Team Lead and Stakeholders with regard to risks,
  • Be a key member of the CES/PPSE organisation

 

Knowledge and Skills

  • 10 + years relevant experience with project management
  • Strong affinity with IT and its complexity
  • Experience within public sector will be considered an asset
  • Experience with e-commerce solutions will be considered an asset
  • Experience within the public transport domain will be considered an asset

  • Demonstrated “can do” work ethic coupled with effective time management and ability to overcome ambiguously or under-defined problems
  • Knowledge of Agile delivery methodology and SAFe (Essentials) are considered an asset
  • PM² and/or PMBOK knowledge are preferred. Prince2, qualifications are an asset; ITIL Certification. A Project Methodology Certification is a MUST.
  • Knowledge of Agile Project Management is considered an asset.
  • Can facilitate Steerco, project update meetings and guide resources.
  • Possesses the ability to communicate, present and produce documentation on various levels for differing audiences
  • Proficient in English, working level notions of Dutch and/or French
  • Work experience with JIRA platform
