Network Security Engineer (Juniper)

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Network Security Engineer with expertise in Juniper technologies to join the IT security team of our client. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure network infrastructures, ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of enterprise systems. The role involves monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing network security while adhering to industry best practices and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, configure, and maintain secure network infrastructures utilizing Juniper routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Implement and manage Juniper SRX, EX, MX, and QFX series devices for security and networking solutions.
  • Perform regular network security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability analysis.
  • Monitor and analyze network traffic to detect and respond to security threats.
  • Configure and maintain VPNs, IDS/IPS, and security policies to ensure data protection.
  • Troubleshoot network security incidents and provide root cause analysis.
  • Stay updated with latest cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and security technologies.
  • Work collaboratively with IT teams to ensure secure network architecture and configurations.
  • Maintain and update security documentation, policies, and compliance reports.
  • Assist in incident response and disaster recovery planning.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in network security engineering with a focus on Juniper technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with Juniper firewalls, routing, switching, and security platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, network protocols, and security best practices.
  • Familiarity with Juniper Junos OS, JNCIA, JNCIS, or JNCIP certifications (preferred).
  • Experience with SIEM tools, threat intelligence, and security monitoring platforms.
  • Proficiency in automation and scripting (Python, Ansible, etc.) is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Certifications:

  • Juniper Networks Certified Internet Associate (JNCIA)
  • Juniper Networks Certified Internet Specialist (JNCIS)
  • Juniper Networks Certified Internet Professional (JNCIP)
  • CISSP, CEH, CCNP Security, or equivalent certifications (preferred)
