Experis is looking for a Medior DevOps Engineer with a strong focus on testing to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about improving the quality and reliability of software products by implementing effective testing strategies and tools. You will play a key role in standardizing testing practices, documenting best practices, managing test data, and supporting the adoption of test automation across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Standardizing Testing Tools
- Identify and recommend tools/frameworks for various testing needs (e.g., ReadyAPI, Playwright, Katalon, Postman, Ready API Virtualization, Gatling, Load Runner).
- Develop decision-making frameworks to help teams select the right tools for their requirements.
- Oversee the deprecation and migration of outdated tools (e.g., Load Runner, UFT).
Documentation and Best Practices - Create and maintain documentation on automated testing best practices, ensuring tests are independent, environment-agnostic, and capability-focused.
- Collaborate with the Testing Community to define and share best practices organization-wide.
Test Data Management - Define strategies and processes for managing test data across environments to closely mirror production scenarios.
- Establish roles and responsibilities for test data creation, copying, and cleanup.
Supporting Test Automation - Document and facilitate the integration of test automation into Jira workflows, including XRAY configuration and management.
- Ensure new features and automated tests are delivered together, integrated into the team’s processes and Git branching strategy.
- Execute automated tests on new application versions to ensure functional alignment post-deployment.
Repository and Version Management - Define best practices for organizing and storing test scripts in Bitbucket, ensuring synchronization between application versions and testing scripts.
- Implement a Git branching model to manage testing scripts (e.g., Playwright, Gatling).
Skills and Qualifications
- A professional Bachelor’s degree in Applied Computer Sciences or equivalent experience.
- At least 10 years of experience in the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and software delivery.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in testing best practices (ISTQB certification is a plus).
- At least 3 years of experience with Git.
- At least 5 years of experience in TypeScript, specifically for Playwright and Gatling.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience with Continuous Delivery, preferably with Azure DevOps.
- Experience in performance testing or disaster recovery testing.
- Proficiency in English and Dutch or French.
- Availability for onsite work 2 days per week.
- Familiarity with XRAY is an advantage but not mandatory.
