We play a crucial role in coordinating high-voltage electricity flows for European Transmission System Operators (TSOs), ensuring the security of electricity supply on a regional basis.
We are looking for a seasoned Senior IT System Administrator who is passionate about delivering qualitative IT services and eager to ensure the smooth operations of our IT environment.
Your Role
In this role, you will be the key player in designing, deploying, and managing our large-scale IT systems. Your expertise will be critical in providing uninterrupted IT support on a 24/7 basis, ensuring our systems and applications are scalable, secure, and reliable, and supporting our team in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage large-scale IT systems (servers, storage, network).
- Implement system architectures aligned with business goals.
- Perform regular maintenance, updates, and patch management.
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues and system failures.
- Implement and enforce security best practices and protocols.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior system administrators.
- Assist in application deployment and provide 2nd and 3rd line support.
- Participate in projects and ensure timely and successful project delivery.
- Document system configurations, procedures, and solutions.
- Generate reports on system performance and project statuses.
- Stay updated on IT trends and recommend infrastructure improvements.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in system administration or a related field.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as MCSE, RHCE, AWS Certified Solutions Architect are highly desirable.
- Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Leadership and project management capabilities.
- Expertise in operating systems, networking protocols, automation tools, and hypervisors.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, PowerShell) and ITIL practices.
- Languages: English & Dutch proficiency required
