{"id":7053128,"date":"2026-10-23T07:39:13","date_gmt":"2026-10-23T07:39:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/experis.be\/vacancies\/28156-computer-operator-ibm-bastogne-data-center\/"},"modified":"2026-10-23T07:39:13","modified_gmt":"2026-10-23T07:39:13","slug":"28156-computer-operator-ibm-bastogne-data-center","status":"publish","type":"matador-job-listings","link":"https:\/\/experis.be\/nl\/vacancies\/28156-computer-operator-ibm-bastogne-data-center\/","title":{"rendered":"Computer Operator &#8211; IBM Bastogne Data Center"},"content":{"rendered":" <ul class=\"matador-job-meta matador-job-meta-job-7053128 matador-job-meta-default\"> <li class=\"matador-job-meta-field matador-job-field-job_general_location matador-job-field-value-bastogne\"> <span class=\"matador-job-meta-label\">Locatie:<\/span> <span class=\"matador-job-meta-value\">Bastogne<\/span> <\/li> <li class=\"matador-job-meta-field matador-job-field-employmentType matador-job-field-value-contracting\"> <span class=\"matador-job-meta-label\">Type:<\/span> <span class=\"matador-job-meta-value\">Contracting<\/span> <\/li> <li class=\"matador-job-meta-field matador-job-field-bullhorn_job_id matador-job-field-value-28156\"> <span class=\"matador-job-meta-label\">Vacature<\/span> <span class=\"matador-job-meta-value\">#28156<\/span> <\/li> <\/ul> <h1>Computer Operator &#8211; Data Center Operations<\/h1> <h2>The Opportunity<\/h2> <p>For a large international technology environment in the Bastogne region, we are looking for hands-on Computer Operators to support server deployment, hardware operations and inventory management.<\/p> <p>This is an onsite technical role for someone who enjoys working directly with servers, networking equipment and data center infrastructure in a fast-paced operational environment.<\/p> <h2>What You Will Do<\/h2> <p>You will be involved in a broad range of data center activities, including:<\/p> <ul> <li> <p>Rack, build, cable, configure and provision Intel and AMD servers<\/p> <li> <p>Install and troubleshoot Windows Server, Linux and Unix-based operating systems<\/p> <li> <p>Deploy and cable Cisco Layer 2 networking equipment<\/p> <li> <p>Perform hardware diagnostics, testing and quality checks<\/p> <li> <p>Troubleshoot hardware incidents through ticketing systems<\/p> <li> <p>Install, test, label and manage copper and fibre cabling<\/p> <li> <p>Maintain accurate technical and escalation documentation<\/p> <li> <p>Perform daily checks of server, storage and inventory areas<\/p> <li> <p>Support hardware asset and inventory management<\/p> <li> <p>Process RMAs and coordinate hardware movements between teams and locations<\/p> <li> <p>Manage incoming and outgoing hardware shipments<\/p> <li> <p>Support inventory audits, stock checks and equipment lifecycle activities<\/p> <\/ul> <h2>Your Profile<\/h2> <p>We are looking for someone with:<\/p> <ul> <li> <p>At least 2 years of experience in a data center environment or equivalent hands-on technical experience<\/p> <li> <p>At least 1 year of inventory control experience<\/p> <li> <p>Experience troubleshooting servers, workstations and hardware components<\/p> <li> <p>Working knowledge of Windows Server, Linux or Unix<\/p> <li> <p>Experience with ticketing systems and inventory tools<\/p> <li> <p>Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook<\/p> <li> <p>A valid driving licence<\/p> <li> <p>Fluent English<\/p> <li> <p>Authorization to work in Belgium without company sponsorship<\/p> <li> <p>The ability to work onsite in the Bastogne region<\/p> <li> <p>The flexibility to work shifts, including nights and weekends when required<\/p> <li> <p>The ability to lift hardware weighing up to approximately 23 kg<\/p> <\/ul> <p>French is a strong advantage.<\/p> <h2>Nice to Have<\/h2> <ul> <li> <p>Experience with Cisco networking hardware<\/p> <li> <p>Strong inventory control experience<\/p> <li> <p>Web server or database installation experience<\/p> <li> <p>Forklift or material-handling certification<\/p> <\/ul> <h2>Location<\/h2> <p>Bastogne region, Belgium<\/p> <p>This is a fully onsite position within a data center environment.<\/p> <p>Interested in a hands-on infrastructure role where you work directly with server hardware and data center operations?
